Mapa Tools started off as a unit of the Mahindra Group. It was acquired by the Pethe family in 1983 and since has been run so. The two key people technologically behind the enterprise are two of the directors – Mahesh Pethe and Chandrashekhar Pethe. The motto of the company has always been to give excellent quality to customers and we are happy to report that today a majority of our clients can vouch for that.
Our Business
Mapa Tools was started as a unit making high qualilty machines like grinders and lapping heads. It later also started providing CT Tooling services after acquiring an Optical Profile Grinding machine. Since 1989 we are developing both product lines and have supplied to numerous clients according to their specifications and requirements.
Who We Are
Mahesh Pethe Director
Mahesh is the person who was the key behind the acquisition of this unit from the erstwhile owners. He is an experienced marketing person as well as an engineering technology enthusiast who has been head of the marketing efforts of the company since the past 30 odd years. He is a rally driver, a qualified Private Pilot’s License holder and a Gliding Instructor’s License holder. He also loves playing billiards in his free time.
Vikram Pethe Director
Vikram is the non-executive person among the three Directors of the company and looks after the finance and other economic matters of the company. Although not involved in daily matters of the company he likes to keep himself abreast of the industry situation and does so with inputs from the other directors. He is an Electrical Engineer and also runs a jewellery shop. He has practical knowledge about civil construction. He likes and studies philosophy and spiritualism.
Chandrashekhar Pethe Director
Chandrashekhar is the technological head of the company and designs the machines coming out of the workshop. He is a Mechanical Engineer from the College of Engineering Pune and makes sure that the design is of topmost quality and the construction hardy and durable. The operations part is also under his watch and he takes credit for the accuracy of construction and machining of components etc. He likes to listen to old Hindi songs and likes travelling to different places.
